| I'm moving blogs...lemme know if you want an invite! | | |
| I mentioned a couple of entries ago that I have been reading a lot of blogs. My goal was to post the links here and a little descriptions of each and maybe some of my faves from each one. I always end up finding more blogs each time I read them so it's becoming quite a daunting task so maybe I'll do a couple at a time.
I have 2 favorites right now.
http://keikolynn.blogspot.com/ I think this girl is really beautiful and I love her outfits and make-up. It's really cool that she lists her makeup details...only if I had the skills to copy her :) The latest entry is quite sad but it was very moving and brought a tear to my eyes.
http://www.alreadypretty.com/ I got this one from Sonya; it's her favorite blog. Her outfits in my opinion are hit and miss. She sometimes comes up with really amazing outfits that really flatter her. Then there are times where she'll wear stuff that just makes her look frumpy. I do like what she write though. She went through a shopping ban a year ago and it was really fun reading the whole saga. She also has inspired me to shop at places like Target and Old Navy. I was really tempted to do some thrifting because she makes it sound so fun. Unfortunately with the whole bedbug epidemic in the recent past, I'm too scared to give it a shot.

| Happy Monday...not.
I was so tired that I dreamt that I was too tired to wake this morning! We opened a bottle of wine last night to watch TV and ended up going into a second bottle. It had been a while since we've had wine. We used to drink easily a bottle a night, several nights a week. We started with only doing that Fri and Sat nights when I would spend the night over, but it increased as I was spending more nights over. It did get to a point where I looked forward having a glass as soon as I got off of work, presumably from stress. I am not sure when all that stopped and I think it kind of stopped abruptly..maybe when I got sick a few months ago. I have to say that it's been nice not spending so much money on buying the booze and washing the wine glasses. As with most things in life, moderation is key.
We spent much of the weekend doing chores around the house and running random errands. We had a pretty sizable to-do list but as usual, I had a feeling we wouldn't get much done. Considering how (not) productive we have been lately, we actually a few things done. We went to Lowe's Friday night and bought a new fridge. We've been wanting to get a french door fridge for a while now and Lowe's was having a really nice sale on Samsung fridges. I like the LG ones but they don't have the special seal (I'm sure there is a name for it, I'm just too lazy to look it up). The Samsungs look nice but they've always been pretty expensive. We got ours for $1299 (ori. $1799) plus extra 10% which took care of the tax.
We managed to do a little yard work and took out some bushes in the carport that were annoying. We bought these bulbs from Costco a couple of weeks and were going to plant them in that space but I'm having second thoughts. A trip to Lowe's garden department has left us with many inspiration and ideas which we need to research and sort out. Hopefully we'll some to an agreement soon before it's too late in the season to plant.
The spare bedroom/office is finally completely primed and the paint color picked out. I'm not looking forward to painting it, especially with our new cal king mattress laying in the middle of the room. It was tolerable finishing the priming yesterday since we didn't need to be precise and can move the mattress over to one side while we worked on the other. I don't know how we're going to manage painting the ceiling with the mattress in there.
Okay break over, time to go back to work...

| The bf and I went up to Tahoe this past weekend. We left around 5pm, took an hour for dinner, and finally arrived at his aunt's cabin at Northstar after 2am. I used to complain that it was so much more driving from San Mateo compared to Davis and now we're even farther away from Tahoe. We slept in on Saturday and only spent a couple of hours on the slope. The snow was amazing but I tired out quickly after getting stuck in 3 feet of powder during a couple of tree runs. I wish we could have spent more time skiing but I just didn't want to hurt myself by pushing too hard.
We met up with our friend Virginia and Hank and their son in Reno for dinner buffet. I must have been really thirsty because I downed an entire glass (and those buffet glasses are huge!) of soda before getting any food. I got full pretty quickly from the soda and mushroom ravioli, which I guess was a good thing because I really need to watch my eating habits. I'm going to go back to the gym soon after my year-hiatus. Swear!
I have been reading a lot of blogs lately, mainly fashion ones and have been getting a lot of ideas. I'll explain next time.... | | |
